Asbestos Surveys & Analysis

Asbestos surveys and analysis are carried out to locate and inspect the presence of any suspected asbestos containing materials within a property.

An asbestos survey and analysis are an essential part of the process to learn if a premises has asbestos, once this has been completed then the next course of action can be planned.

The purpose of an asbestos survey

An asbestos survey’s purpose is to learn if there are any asbestos containing materials present and to what extent.

An asbestos survey must be carried out before beginning any construction work.

An asbestos management survey is for commercial and industrial type buildings, as well as leaseholders and freeholders.

This type of report forms the requirements under regulation 4 of the control of asbestos regulations 2012 “duty to management” The responsibility falls on those that manage the property to have an understanding of what asbestos containing materials are present within that property so that they can be managed safely.

A management survey also aims to ensure that nobody disturbs the asbestos accidentally, that the ACM remains in good condition, and nobody is harmed by the continuing presence ACM in the property.
