Phase 1
Works commenced in November 2023 to demolish the buildings B1 to B6 as shown on the Section 80 Demolition Plan down to slab level including the removal of licensable asbestos from the buildings and connecting underground service ducts/tunnels.
All asbestos removal works were completed by the end of February 2024 with on-going demolition works to other buildings.
Note: Building B4 and its surroundings were omitted from the scope as this area does not form part of the current site ownership.
Phase 2
The grubbing out and removal of building slabs, foundations and substructures commenced in May 2024.
Concrete, masonry and a small quantity of tarmacadam materials including arisings from the superstuctures were recycled on site, crushed to a 6F5 standard and left on site.
A 120 year solution was adopted and constructed including a method of safe demolition, retaining bulk mass bund with a land drainage system below and a strengthened parapet wall along the footpath section of Limer’s Hill.
A live road gulley discharging from Limer’s Hill into the site was intercepted during the course of the works and connected to an existing outfall manhole within the site
Phase 1 works were completed December 2024 (Duration: 58weeks)
Phase 2 works were completed November 2024 (Duration: 29weeks)
Retaining Wall works were completed December 2024 (Duration: 13weeks)
